Kuzma Brings Money to the 39th District
January 28, 2025
HARRISBURG – Rep. Andrew Kuzma (R-Allegheny/Washington) today announced he secured more than $1.1 million in Gaming Economic Development and Tourism Fund (GEDTF) Program grants for projects in the Allegheny County portion of his legislative district.
The GEDTF program provides funding for single-year and multi-year projects that promote development in Allegheny County, including economic, infrastructure and community improvements, job training, public safety and public interest. The money comes from the tax assessed on slot machines in casinos.
“Each of these projects will improve the quality of life for residents and visitors in southern Allegheny County,” Kuzma said. “I’m pleased my advocacy assisted with the funding. I look forward to continuing to fight to address important issues to make the 39th Legislative District a great place to live and visit.”
Projects receiving funding are:
• Elizabeth Township - $205,000 for the Boston Road improvement project to include storm water piping, milling and paving on multiple streets.
• Pleasant Hills Borough – $208,000 for the Pleasant Hills Public Library renovation to include replacement of the roof, windows and two staircases.
• SouthEast Regional EMS – $300,000 for 12 new power stretchers.
• South Park Township – $450,000 for Wilson Park for site preparation, design and installation of LED lights.
The 39th Legislative District includes Elizabeth, Forward and South Park townships and Elizabeth, Jefferson Hills, Pleasant Hills and West Elizabeth boroughs in Allegheny County; and Union and part of Carroll townships, Finleyville and New Eagle boroughs, and the city of Monongahela in Washington County.
