Kuzma Announces Streetlight Grant

March 26, 2024

HARRISBURG – Rep. Andrew Kuzma (R-Allegheny/Washington) today announced a $147,000 grant has been awarded to the city of Monongahela to replace streetlights.

The funding comes from the Multimodal Transportation Fund under the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which manages the state’s economic stimulus programs. The fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure a safe and reliable system of transportation is available in the Commonwealth.

“While many people don’t immediately notice streetlights when walking or driving down the road, good lighting coming from fresh, new fixtures can help reinvigorate the area,” Kuzma said. “I’m pleased to have been able to support this important project through funding from the 2023-24 state budget.”

The streetlights that will be replaced are located on Main Street.

The 39th Legislative District includes Elizabeth, Forward and South Park townships and Elizabeth, Jefferson Hills, Pleasant Hills and West Elizabeth boroughs in Allegheny County; and Union and part of Carroll townships, Finleyville and New Eagle boroughs, and the city of Monongahela in Washington County.
